I-790 Message

Thanks to all of you for helping with the I-790 campaign success. Now we go to the next step.

Enabling legislation will be put together to implement I-790. That is the responsibility of the Department of Retirement System & State Actuary's Office. We will be very involved in this process.

The LEOFF II Retirement Board Created by I-790 will also have to be selected. We are working to set up a selection process to fill these positions.

There are always rumors after passing initiatives that there will be a legal challenge. Please keep in mind that if this does happen it is the State AG's responsibility to defend the wishes of the people.
I790 Message

Near the end of the initiative campaign we were about $50,000 short of what we needed. Each of the groups involved loaned the campaign $15,000. We are going to attempt to collect the money from our member organizations that failed to pay.

Your WACOPS delegate will receive a status report of the campaign. We would appreciate your help in encouraging support from all our members.
