Committees
This committee is responsible for procurement of items, raffle ticket sales, and other fundraisers. The chair and committee members are responsible for managing the fundraiser at each General Membership Meeting and any other event. WACOPS By Laws set forth the authorized distribution of funds from the Benevolent Fund for line of duty and non-line of duty death of members. Any other proposal to use Benevolent Funds must be proposed to the Chair.

This committee is responsible for selecting and publicizing recipients of the yearly WACOPS Youth Scholarship Program. Additionally, they are responsible for selecting and awarding the Mark Brinkman Distinguished Service Award and any other awards identified to be given.
Chair: Tarina Rose-Watson
This committee works directly with the Executive Director and contract lobbyist on legislative matters. The Government Relations Committee acts as liaisons for WACOPS in Olympia attending meetings with legislators and participating in hearings as appropriate. Committee members are the trusted experts on WACOPS essential advocacy work and are expected to skillfully articulate the organization’s positions and actions to the membership.

This committee works with the Executive Director and the assigned WACOPS staff to make the General Membership Meetings successful. The committee will assist in developing the agenda and assisting with the execution of the meeting to ensure members have an exceptional experience. Committee members help the WACOPS staff identify training topics and resources for future meetings or other training events.

This committee considers membership retention and development strategies working with the Executive Director in recruiting new and maintaining current member guilds.
